In order to complete the process of applying for a Federal Direct PLUS Loan each year, you must submit an on-line application with Enrollment Services. This is a separate application which is in addition to signing a Master Promissory Note and requesting a credit check. If you are applying for the Parent Plus loan, you must be the student's parent (step-parent or adoptive parent). All students must complete the FAFSA for the corresponding academic year. Specific information regarding the student applicant is needed to complete this process. You must have his/her URI student ID number, date of birth, and Social Security number. If you are applying for the Parent Plus Loan please contact your student if you do not have this information. By completing this supplemental application, I am granting consent to the U.S. Department of Education and its agents to obtain a report of my credit record and using the information from that report in determining whether to make A Direct PLUS Loan to me. I understand that I will be notified in writing of the results of the credit check with respect to my loan application.
